Measurement guide
Getting the right curtain size is simple. Follow the step-by-step guide below to measure your windows accurately and calculate how many curtains you need.
Step 1 – Measure the Curtain Rod Width
- Use a measuring tape.
Measure the full width of the curtain rod from one end to the other.
Do not measure only the window frame — always measure the rod.
If you do not have a rod yet, measure the window width and add 8–12 inches extra for proper coverage.
Example:
Rod width = 66 inches
Step 2 – Understand Curtain Panel Width
At Homera Living,
Each curtain panel approximately covers 22 inches width after stitching and folds.
This means:
1 Panel ≈ 22 inches coverage
Step 3 – Calculate Number of Curtains Needed
Formula:
Total Fabric Width ÷ 22 = Number of Curtain Panels
Example:
Total Width Needed = 132 inches
132 ÷ 22 = 6 Panels
You should order 6 curtain panels.
Step 4 – Measure Curtain Length (Height)
Decide where curtains should end:
Sill Length – Ends at window sill
Floor Length – Ends 1 cm above floor (most popular)
Puddle Length – Extends 2–4 inches onto floor (luxury look)
How to Measure:
Measure from top of rod to desired end point.
Measure straight down, not diagonally.
